I am a horrible blogger... but a good mommy!

Well I am really ashamed of myself, it has been two weeks today since the boys were born and I am really slacking when it comes to this blog. The boys really do exist and are entirely adorable, which is my only explanation for why I haven't found the time to tear myself away from them to update this. But now things are starting to settle into something of a routine and I am not completely exhausted all the time... whew! Here are some pictures.... Ryan is on the left and Caleb is on the right. =)

"itching" for something to happen

I am now 36 weeks, 3 days... 25 days until my actual due date!  But, the last week has been a rough one for me.  The twins are doing fine, but they are already causing trouble from the womb!  I have developed a very itchy rash, which is likely PUPPPs.  It started on my belly and the backs of my hands, and every day it has spread more so that now it pretty much covers everything from my neck down to my toes.  After the first few days, feeling like I could scratch myself right out of my own skin, I've developed a routine and found a few things that seem to help keep things manageable at least: oatmeal showers, hydrocortisone cream, calamine lotion, vitamin E oil, benadryl, and ice packs.  It has certainly made the end of this pregnancy more difficult and at times, now I am literally itching for something to happen, even though I know it is still in our best interests for me to stay pregnant until at least 37 weeks.

Please be advised: we are approaching "critical mass"

I am 35 weeks, 4 days! The twins are estimated to weigh 5lb 3oz and 5lb 13oz, so I am carrying over 11 lbs of baby. The stretchmarks get more irritated every day, and now I have a rash that makes them worse. My gestational diabetes diet rules are being bent a little more frequently, too. The questions on everyone's mind: how much bigger can I get, and how much longer can I possibly stay pregnant?!?!

In an effort to divert my attention from the itchiness and keep myself entertained, I decided to create this blog before the boys were actually born, and we'll see if it works well enough to keep it going (read that, "we'll see if I remember to ever post again").
